Your search for recreational property can be a challenge. Please consider this: direct access on flathead lake is expensive, the lots are small and the average lake frontage is 100 feet. Property tax alone ranges between $5,500 to $10,000 per year and then some. Lake Mary Ronan is only 7 miles from flathead. One can use both Lake Mary Ronan and Flathead as we do. There are numerous free nearby boat launches on the flathead: Dayton, Elmo, and Big Arm. And, there are 2 nearby marinas which are far less expensive than flathead property tax. Plus, the water is warmer for swimming or water skiing at Lake Mary Ronan and the fishing is better.

The well is relatively new, drilled in 2013, and works like a charm with its computerized controller and 3 HP pump. For this area, a well producing 15 gallons per minute is a bonus, enough to water the entire property. Water test results from Montana Environmental Laboratory: no arsenic, no bacteria, hardness 56, & iron .91.

One must appreciate a nice well-constructed pier. There are some docks on this lake that are wanting. This Pier of D Nort dock is a gem. One of the best. Docks must be taken out every season due to the ice and county requirements. With this pier, one person can put it in and take it out without getting wet! Most, if not all, property owners cannot do that. Check out their website: www.pierofdnort.com and buy quality.
