Neighborhood Description This is a rural home, on a little more than an acre of land. There is one neighbor to the west, about a football field away, and one more to the west of that home before the creek divides the land. The road is to the north of the house. The east and south sides are open farm land. There is about 40 acres of oak woods to the west, with the Aux Sable Creek running through it. There are beaver in the creek, heron, geese and duck, a large number of deer often seen in the back yard, bass, crappie and northern in the water, as well as a host of other animals living in the area. This home is about six miles from "downtown Minooka," six miles from Shorewood and ten miles from both Joliet and Morris, Illinois. Although the home is rural and in a very open farmland area, Chicago is an hour's drive, Naperville and Bolingbrook are about 30 minutes, and there is access to major shopping, dining and entertainment within about 20 to 30 minutes. The taxes also remain considerably lower than "in-town" or new subdivision homes at about $4,300K. We are very proud of our home and the comfort and amenities it has. We would gladly take it with us to southern Texas when we retire, but alas, that's not an option. Our home will go on the market sometime during mid-2012.
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Zillow. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.
