The FloCondo is a charming top floor loft unit with an "urban cottage" feel in downtown Berkeley, less than 4 blocks from campus. The community consists of 29 residential units, the vast majority owner-occupied. All utilities are included, and the building has private parking spaces rented separately. Apartment has one-bedroom, plus a loft with a platform bed and futon for occasional guests or, with its large rocker, for use as a comfortable reading/study area. The large southern exposure windows provide light and heat all year round and you can glimpse the Golden Gate Bridge and Mount Tam from the 4th floor balcony. The unit retains its artistic provenance as the designer-owner's former studio, and is decorated in a mix of urban chic and unique objects. The building has its own laundry room for residents. The large outdoor patio features a pleasant fountain, loved by our feathered friends, and there is also a grill available for residents and a bike lock-stand. 24/7 security cameras operate in the public areas of the building. We have housed many professors and visiting scholars over the years, to their universal commendation. (One of the owners is a former Cal Visiting Scholar himself.) Location gives easy access to BART and all the entertainment/dining options of downtown Berkeley. Trader Joe's market is in the same block and Saturday's Berkeley Farmers' Market a few minutes walk away. Move-in date of August 1 may be brought forward if necessary. A special find!
