Eagle View Cabin has all the in-demand rustic vibes of a log cabin in the woods, with the comforts you’d expect, plus the bonus of being a low maintenance home and property. There is a pretty approach to the cabin from its short driveway off the quiet shared private road, and then a clearing opens, providing plenty of sunny lawn around the house, with woods beyond. The long, covered front porch is both a hangout and a warm welcome to the house proper. Inside, the wood-paneled ceiling soars over the galley kitchen and the generously proportioned dining area. The corner woodstove is a powerful supplement to the electric baseboard heat, while the bathroom, which has a tub/shower, is just off this space. On the other side of the house, which is functionally divided by the stairs to the loft, are the living room and bedroom with double closet. While there is no cable available at this property, the owners enjoy various streaming channels on their TV, accessed via their cell booster. The loft is luxuriously spacious and has plenty of room for more than one bed if desired. A hatch in the floor under the stairs leads to the clean and dry “crawl space” which has a poured concrete floor and lighting for ease of use. The water heater and pressure tank are the only systems down there, and it is handy for occasional storage. Near the edge of the lawn are two sheds providing perhaps easier access storage space for tools, equipment, and general stuff. And this being the Catskills, the fire pit is the place to be of an evening. Eagle View Road is a shared private road. While there is no written road maintenance agreement, neighbors pitched in last year and regraded the road and adding gravel. Claryville is a wonderfully scenic town where the Neversink River (trout fishing!) begins its journey. It is convenient to a number of hikes including the Red Hill Fire Tower, and is about 25 minutes into Livingston Manor.
