    What's special

SUNNY, SERENE & CENTRALLY-Located Furnished Studio. Ideal for local university graduate student seeking a short-term place to stay in DC for the Fall 2020 Semester. We are a family of four living in the quiet area of DC known as Crestwood. Our 6-year old son and 3-year old daughter are going to remain home this upcoming fall school year. We are not looking for a professional teacher, but someone who can supervise them for some part of the workday during their distance learning. Ideal candidate: - has availability during morning hours to early afternoon -- 25 hours a week, total - has experience babysitting kids of that age - shares the same safe approach to social distancing that we do - clean, organized, neat person - the unit is for one person only to reside in - Spanish speaking a plus but not necessary This will be a temporary arrangement from September til the end of the year, maximum. No payment of rent and no landlord/tenant relationship will be created. In exchange for living in our unit, you will watch the children for 25-30 hours, Monday-Friday, sometime during their virtual school day, which will be 8:00am-12:00pm; and 2:00pm-4:00pm. We are generally flexible and open to discuss specific details. About the unit: Enjoy everything DC has to offer from the lower level of my family's home, in this inviting studio apartment! The space was designed by one of the area's top architects and design firms and features high-end finishes, such as: Benjamin Moore's color of the year, Simply White, throughout the home; rare and stylish Volga Blue granite countertops; a custom-made "barn-style" closet door; and a functional open layout. Key-less entry, through your own private entrance. For enjoying the outdoors, there are two beautiful parks for hiking, nearly adjacent to the home: Piney Branch Park and the District's "crown jewel," the locally-beloved Rock Creek Park. Critically-acclaimed restaurants, cafes (with takeout options) abound in the neighboring Columbia Heights, Petworth, U Street Corridor, and Mt. Pleasant areas of the city, which are close enough to be easily accessible, but far enough away for you to comfortably enjoy the serenity of our peaceful neighborhood. And don't forget to start your day (or end your evening) in your private semi-outdoor al fresco space with a bistro patio set. The studio can comfortably sleep one person, whether on the ultra-relaxing Serta memory foam queen bed or the chic Room & Board-designed futon sofa bed. The unit comes fully-equipped with a kitchenette, featuring an induction burner, coffee maker, tea kettle, disposal, Delta Trinsic fixtures, full-size Samsung stainless steel fridge and freezer, as well as a washer & dryer for your laundering convenience. The studio is also equipped with a 40" SmartTV plus Roku to stream your favorite shows & flicks at your leisure. Sorry, absolutely NO smoking is allowed. NO Pets. Drug-Free Zone Please Note: this is the lower-level of a home belonging to my family of four: two adults, a 2-year old, and a 6-year old. While we have done our best to soundproof the home, in the morning and evening hours, as well as the weekend, you will hear the noises of our active, energetic, children if you stay here. It is also located in a very quiet, residential area of DC, with lots of families and where everyone in the neighborhood expects peace and quiet not a "party place" or a "pre-party place." This will be a short-term stay. Further details can be discussed
