This is an off-grid studio/cottage is in a sunny mountain meadow five minutes from downtown Felton and 15 minutes from Santa Cruz. Great neighbors at the other end of the driveway. Electrical is from solar and a back up generator. Heat is propane. It is a very cozy little cabin with a grand outdoors. Included: full size bathroom (5 x 9), inside and outside showers, a 40 inch TV monitor. HughesNet connection is good enough for email, web browsing, and movie downloads. I used the Satellite Felton workspace for work when I needed a fast connection. The quality of cell phone calls is spotty at times. The solar system is sized for an RV (1,000 watts) which is enough for lights, an under-counter refrigerator, electronics and a single slice toaster. Living off-grid in this case means using water sparingly, low water pressure, hauling your own propane, and taking care of your own trash (or coordinating with the family on the other end of the driveway). Rent does not include internet. Good referrals a must. Off-grid experience preferred While this offering is month-to-month the goal is to have a long term tenant.
