Sylvester Parshley's historic 1893-94 own Queen Anne, considered the "most splendid house of it's type in Boston." He is notable for the Lib. of Congress and the Vanderbilt's 'Rough Point'. Enter via stained-glass doors to an 18' paneled oak stair w/carved banisters to a hall with hand carved 3 panel etched glass window. Master is through a rare folding-pocket door. MBR has original "bubble" stained glass window, firepl & deck. Next is a dressing room with original built-in wooden wardrobe leading to the bath, retaining their original textured glass. Aside the master is the study w/beveled glass 1/2 round window plus a 3-panel window, both sides carved. Thru a pocket door is the living room w/carved moulding & mantel, fireplace w/rare Chelsea tile. Dining entry is a 3 panel pocket door w/"bubble" stained glass. Moulding commissioned by Vanderbilt w/intricately carved faces line the room. Glass hutch w/carved rosettes, dark hdwd floor, stained glass panel & an opening onto a deck.
