This elegant and comfortable home is a classic example of an early center hall eyebrow house. Small windows on the second floor, covered with geometric decorative grilles, pilasters on the corners of the house, and the columned front porch show the influence of Greek Revival architecture which was not in vogue until later. The inside of the house is remarkably intact with countless original details including doors, windows, moldings, a wide front hallway, and four working fireplaces with mantels in the library, living room, keeping room, and basement (the original kitchen). Upstairs, the master bedroom suite takes up the back wing of the house, while two other bedrooms and large hall area are located in the front of the house. The one acre property includes a private stone patio and hot tub on the north side and a deck facing Summit Lake. Built in 1815 by Philip Clum, it is the oldest house in Philmont.
