Across one lawn is a vegetable garden, and beyond the back stone wall is a wildflower meander through a field on the property. All rooms are furnished with antiques. Each 2 bedrooms have a full bed, one bedroom has a queen bed and there is an additional single bed in an entertainment room. The main bedroom suite with a queen bed has an adjoining office/tv screen room, and a marble glass shower with Waterworks sink and fixtures. The kitchen has a professional stove, farmhouse sink and soapstone counters. The generous Pool house is nicely furnished and great for entertaining your guests or just enjoying the peace, quiet and privacy. The heated, in-ground pool area is separate from the house and completely private, landscaped with exotic trees, and ancient stone walls, and the pool is furnished with teak steamer lounge chairs. The house is 1.5 hrs from Grand Central Station by train (Redding Station just up the road, or a 15-minute drive to Brewster Station) and 1 hour 10 minutes by car to Manhattan. 10 min. drive to a large Whole Foods and restaurants in Ridgefield, Wilton, Bethel and Danbury. The house sits across from a sheep meadow and abuts - both in the front and back, hundreds of acres of wildlife preserve with fields and hiking trails.
