Settle into one of the elegant and uniquely furnished rooms, with antiques and hand-crafted furniture from around the world; built in 1899, you will find a house like no other: beautiful and historic, but as inviting as home should be. Sea breezes (and ACs!) keep the house cool all summer (the shore is 10 degrees cooler in summer and 10 degrees warmer in winter than inland.) 7 big bedrooms, all with closets, massive living areas featuring a baby grand piano, huge stone (working) fireplace, and porches that wrap around 3 sides of the house, all with water views. A spacious eat-in kitchen with foodie-friendly kitchen tools, spices, high-end pots and pans, and place settings for 12. There are 4 separate dining areas: a formal dining table for 10; a sunny round captain's table in the turret for 6, kitchen dining for 8, or sit outside on the porch at the handmade teak table for 8. As a former short-term rental, the hosts provide all sorts of extras: breakfast for the first week and plenty of goodies: snacks, staples and a full bar. This is also more of a European-style home with cloth napkins and placemats, fresh kitchen herb garden year-round, composting for food scraps (optional) and other environmentally-friendly practices.
