A completely and stunningly updated Victorian located in the heart of Beacon, NY, just an 8-minute walk to the Metro-north train station and 1-block from Main Street. In 2016, the entire house underwent a full renovation and construction of an addition that added one-and-a-half bathrooms, expanded the kitchen, enlarged the bedrooms, including the master suite, and incorporated a mudroom and laundry room. A focal point of the design was to incorporate a spacious and open layout that accommodates entertaining and/or raising a family. The home features a thoughtful blending of its original and best preserved character including wide plank wood floors, exposed wood beams, and hints of brick with the essential updates that allow you to have peace of mind for decades to come. As true barn-pickers, the designers also sourced old windows, doors, and barn wood from local estates and incorporated them into the aesthetic creating a timeless and character-thriving dwelling. Salvaged wood from the original structure was carefully removed during the renovation and used to build the bathroom vanities and rebuild the home's front porch. The renovation also strived for high energy efficiency. The entire building envelope has been replaced: a completely new roof including soffit, fascia board, plywood, and shingles. Zip system insulation board was used to enclose the whole building (existing structure and the addition) and new siding was installed throughout. Inside the walls, open and closed cell spray foam insulation was installed to achieve maximum air tightness. Every window on the first and second floor has been replaced with efficient, double-pane windows. High efficiency central air HVAC system heats and cools the home. A new water heater has also been installed. All plumbing and electric has been replaced and updated.
