Ten years ago we were looking for a home with privacy, easy access to town and highways, a nice neighborhood, the lowest tax rates around as well as a zone allowing horses. So we chose this property. It is in a spectacular location minutes to downtown and 495 and it was built on the second highest hill in Atkinson so we are bathed in sunlight and enjoy elusive summer breezes plus we have space to enjoy our "Gentleman/Gentlewoman Farm" composed of dogs, horses and (former) chickens. The 70's era house needed loads of updating and the land was completely barren. We found less than a handful of worms when we first began our garden. 10 years later our favorite room is a huge warm, cherry and painted kitchen with a turn of the century vintage farmer's sink, a real antique butcher block that was built into the island and state if the art Bosch stainless appliances with a fabulous induction cooktop...and you should see the Butler's pantry, it even has instant hot water! That said, it is hard to get out of bed in the morning when you are facing French doors that look out onto roses and blueberry gardens and three grazing horses.
