My home is located in the Historic District of Fall River, "The Highlands." The property sits on a 13,463 sq. ft. lot with a fenced in back yard, surrounded by very old and mature trees, as well as flowering bushes, ferns, and shade garden, a total tranquil paradise. One side of the yard abuts Maplecroft, Lizzie Borden's last residence. My home was built in 1888 by Mr. Robert Robertson, a prominent businessman in the city. Mr. Robertson's two children took over the residence, and in later years sold it to the Brennan family. In 1986, I became the happy owner of the home. The interior part of the home has beautiful woodwork and working fireplaces. The owner’s quarters, which have always been the second and third floors, consist of living room, library, formal dining room, four bedrooms, two on the second floor and two on the third, bathroom, and kitchen. The third floor unit has two bedrooms, with a large eat-in kitchen, living room, and bathroom. The first floor unit has two bedrooms, bathroom, double parlor, formal dining room, and a kitchen with pantry. The house can very easily be converted back to a two family. And with much sadness after 30 happy years in the home, I feel that it is time for someone new, who enjoys living in a Victorian home, to appreciate it as I do.
