Although it is a basement apartment you have plenty of large windows and a sliding glass door for natural light - so it doesn't feel like a basement apartment. You also have your own private garden patio with giant timbered arbors just outside your living room glass slider that makes it feel like you have your own private hideaway. The best asset this apartment has is its GREAT LOCATION. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, 3 blocks to Sanders Beach, 12 blocks to downtown CDA, and 5 blocks to a grocery store. Across the street is nothing but tall trees; it's like living in the woods yet the convenience of living in the middle of Coeur d'Alene. There is a large carport for parking, a beautiful brick-lined patio with garden terraces, a tub/shower, fridge, electric stove, and dishwasher. The apartment is all on one level with no stairs and the carport is just outside your front door so it could be ideal for someone with mobility issues. There is also your own washer and dryer in house basement next to the apartment. Since it is a basement apartment, it runs a little cool, which is great in the summer, but more challenging in the winter. You can expect your electric/heating bill to get up around $100 in the winter unless you like it really toasty. Your water/sewer/trash should be under $25 a month. Your share of WiFi is $20. We pay for your hot water. We expect you to maintain the patio garden and driveway area and you are responsible for your snow removal. This a basement apartment so there are some noise issues that go along with that. We live upstairs (a couple with two quiet dogs), and although we are respectful and not partiers or particularly loud, the construction of the house amplifies our noise so you need to be a tenant that is not too bothered by that (if you've lived in apartments before you know what I'm talking about). And the noise goes up too. For this reason we are very particular about getting a quiet tenant in this apartment. We will require that you to keep all your noise to a minimum by playing TV, music, or video games at low levels or with headphones (we'll even supply you with wireless headphones if needed). Also if you're a tenant with lots of friends over, or you converse loudly on the phone, or even if you sing loudly to yourself, this is not an apartment for you. We leave for six months in the winter and sublet the upstairs during those months. We are very careful of who we rent to, after all this is our home. We run them through tenant screening and choose households we feel will be respectful of the property and of their neighbors downstairs (you). The upstairs part of the house has a separate driveway on another street (we live on a corner), so this keeps your driveway and patio area more private. Rent is $990 a month, with $990 refundable security/cleaning deposit. There is a $35 tenant screening charge if you don't use Zillow's tenant screening. The apartment is available sometime in mid-September, the current tenant is still scheduling their departure. We require a lease that will end on May 31st, 2020. At that time we can both decide if we'd like to enter into another lease. Pets are considered but only if they are well behaved, quiet, and their owners are well trained. We will have to meet your pets before signing a lease. There is an additional $300 pet deposit and a $25 per month pet rent. We are looking for a tenant that wants a long term home, that is responsible, has good credit, and a good tenant history, so please don't bother applying if you don't have this. Also NO SMOKING is allowed on the property. If you are interested in this apartment please drive by the neighborhood first and see if you like the area.
