The Caverns Ranch is home to the headwaters of the Nueces River and features a 360 degree view of the rolling hills that surround the property. The front gate is 1.1 miles off the pavement at the end of a gravel county road which passes through one ranch before the Caverns. The ranch headquarters is situated in a picturesque valley flanked by a creek and rugged limestone cliffs. The three bedroom, two bath ranch house, guest house, pens, well, cistern, and outbuildings are all in good repair and are shaded by mature oak and pecan trees. Seven thousand feet of Little Hackberry Creek wind its way through the ranch. The creek level fluctuates seasonally, but several permanent springs help to keep some parts of the creek full all the time. Wildly beautiful and dramatic are the five hillside caves that stretch between the stacked rocks of the craggy cliffs, with heights of fifteen or more. Nine individual springs and four hundred feet variations in elevation make this one of the most dramatically scenic and remarkable properties you'll ever see. The hunting is phenomenal, with herds of aoudad sheep, transcaspian urials, Iranian red sheep, racka sheep, 4 horn sheep, blackbuck, elk, whitetail, fallow, and axis deer, turkeys, and varmints indigenous to the area.
