We still love the property so much, and plan to keep it and build on it in the future. However, we have had to move closer to schools for now, and we want to let others get the taste of the beautiful, peaceful rural life of Wadmalaw Island. We plan to continually improve upon this property, and hope we are forthright enough in stating that the home is a clean and restorative retreat, surrounded by nearly 3 acres of gorgeous open land and bordering trees and forests, and not a glamorous mansion with bells and whistles. There is a chicken coop on the property, ready for chickens during your stay, where you can collect fresh eggs and pretend this is your normal country life, or at least make it a true part of you and your story of those peaceful months (or years) you, your family, and friends spent at The Jolly Ranch on Wadmalaw Island. The people and environment are quiet, peaceful, and respectful. We are protective of the land and the surrounding beauty of all its nature and wildlife. You rarely, if ever, see the neighbors, but they are definitely there and friendly if you need them. We all know one another and most have lived in or had these properties in their families for generations. We ask that you and any guests help to maintain the good relationships and show kindness and consideration. Our property is a simple, wide-open corner piece of property on the fabulous farm-laden island of Wadmalaw. There is a large wooden playset, built for my own children by my husband and my father, as well as a climbing structure. There is a fire pit area, for outdoor gatherings, and a small fenced area at the back of the house to keep animals separate from the much larger yard space during events or gatherings. The entire yard is also almost 100% enclosed by a fence, with plenty of space for families, friends, and pets to run. What is special about our property is that we welcome your pets and children, where many other properties frown upon both. We also include games, toys, and books for all ages, making the country life bearable, even for those city folks you might be dragging out there for an experience! We love the property and honestly want to use it and get back to it. However, life is requiring us to make other choices right now, so we made the tough decision to put it back up for rent and plan to have it ready for move in by July 1st. We are currently not offering in-person tours during minor repair work in progress. (Pictures and videos will be available on this post by June 1st, and updated as repair work is completed and the property is readied for move-in. No equipment provided or currently available until we are able to get our riding mower on-site repaired. Local service providers can be recommended. Neighbors can also be coerced with the right barter/trade, as needed, so always be a considerate neighbor. Pets are absolutely welcome, but property owner assumes no liabilities for harm, injuries, or damage caused by renter's pets while on the property during the rental period. Renter should secure temporary renter's insurance, at one's own discretion, for liabilities or coverage of valuables (not required). Front gate should remain closed at ALL times while on the property or when leaving the property. Rent will be collected using Zillow Rental Manager. Property will be available as of July 1st, pending completion of small repairs in progress.
