BRIEF HISTORY This Historic stone mansion was built circa 1830 from Gasport Limestone during the era when this portion of the Erie Canal was being developed. This house is one of the first houses built in Lockport in the originally named 'triangle' area of the city near the canal and is only 1 of 19 structures left standing with this particular type of canal limestone. Initially, in 1824, Willhem Willink (one of the founding investors of the Holland Land Company and the Louisiana Purchase) owned the property. From 1826 and on, the property and house were owned by various members of the Comstock family, Silas Olmsted, Lyman Spalding and other ?Founding Father?s? of this area.
