Wilshire Parks is an older established neigherhood that includes a Lutheran Church. The Church is a focal point for community meetings, and has a walking trail and playground for the church and neighborhood to use. Wilshire Park has a community Watch Program that was established back in the late 80's. The Wilshire Park Community Club sponsors a bi-yearly dinner and a yearly community yard sale. Wislhire Park is within walking distance of grocery stores, the library, banks, restuarants, and other churches. Drive time to downtown Asheville is 10 minutes, Asheville Mall - 20 minutes, Biltmore Square Mall - 20 minutes. Sister's of Mercy Urgent Care is located two blocks from the Park entrance.
