Lakeside cottage... water views throughout! AVAILABLE FURNISHED SEPTEMBER 13 2025-APRIL 2026. Built in the 1940s, our three bedroom cottage has all the charm, coziness and comfort of yesteryear. Perched on the shore of 64 acre Hunns Lake in Stanfordville the setting down a private road is exceptionally beautiful and peaceful... an oasis near Millbrook, Pine Plains, Rhinebeck and just two hours from Manhattan. You enter through a lakeside screened porch, roomy enough for 8-10 to dine in mild weather and handy for firewood and winter paraphernalia when the snow falls. Then, through a dutch door, find a modern kitchen to the right and dining nook to the left, the both open to each other and to the lake through a large plate glass window. Beyond is the living room, with two walls of windows capturing lake views to the west and the north. Sunsets are spectacular from here! There's a door to a bluestone patio for fair weather lounging and a wood-burning Franklin Stove for winter pleasure. The ground floor master bedroom also has stunning lake views; alongside is a tiled bathroom with walk-in shower and laundry facilities. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms under the eaves, each with a dormer over looking the lake, and a little bathroom between them. Outside, in addition to the bluestone patio, there is a small sun deck for grilling, an easy acre of green lawn for play, wooden steps to the lake for swimming (the water is fine!), a place to launch your own raft or boat to fish or just drift (no motors allowed) . Enjoy the shade of crabapple, oak, maple, lilac. Watch for the deer, the fox, the turtles, the beaver. Listen to the frogs and the geese in migration. The 2 mile road circumventing the lake is favored by the lake community for walking and biking. And the lake when it freezes takes on new life with iceboats, cross-country skiing and ice fishing. The cottage is offered furnished for periods between 1 and 7 months beginning September 13, 2025 through April 2026. Renter is responsible for, any additional cable services (Wi-Fi is included).
