May I have the pleasure to introduce you to the "C.S. Norton Mansion", located in Bedford Indiana. Built in 1897, this 2 1/2 story "royal blue" dwelling home was listed into the US National Registry of Historic Places in 1976. The home boasts of over 5000 sq ft of living space with 5 Bedrooms and 3.5 Baths. There are dual front entrances and a parapet surrounding the roof. It is cubicle in form with a hipped roof and gable dormers. The house features a cylindrical tower topped by conical roof, a one story entrance portico with Ionic order columns, and a porte cochere. This home is well known in Bedford as the "Limestone Castle". The limestone came from Mr. Norton's quarry that was known for a special blue hue. There is also a detached brick building that was once used as living quarters while the house was being built and later servant quarters.
