I HAVE STOPPED SHOWING THIS APARTMENT AND SENDING OUT APPLICATIONS.
This is not a management-run rental, so it is a cool place to live. That also means there is NO application fee (it's only one page, anyway. AND, you get a full 12 month lease--that's not short 4 or 5 days at the start or end leaving you and all your stuff homeless. Also, your rent won't get jacked up next year. Plus, if anything does need repair, it gets fixed fast.
This great, full-size one bedroom, one bath, apartment in a big house (split up into 5 apartments) is perfect for a K.U. student on a budget, but wants a nice place to live, close to campus, with free, off-street parking and laundry. With its real wood floors, high ceilings (with ceiling fans) wide woodwork, lots of windows (with mini-blinds)...makes it pretty nice!
It's on the second floor, sunny, S.W. corner/front of the house. Great water pressure and plenty of hot-water available (this is not true at many places!) and you won't blow a fuse every time you use two things at once. You don't share a bath or kitchen etc. with anyone...
What you do get is free washer and dryer use...it's just a few feet down the hall from your private door. Free, well-lit, off -street parking (around in back of the house). and a chance to have a small animal like a cat (sorry, a small dog is not the same as a cat) with a one-time, animal rent fee.
