The Glass Lake hamlet is centered around beautiful clean Glass Lake in southern Rensselaer County. In the town of Sand Lake, the larger area offers a wide selection of restaurants - from fine dining to casual breakfast/lunches - to the best pizzas - as well as grocery stores, hardward stores, lumber suppliers, auto repair facilities, dry cleaning services, laundromats, wine/liquor shops, and convenient stores/gas stations. It's a rural area which is only 20 to 30 minutes from major shopping and business centers, including the state capitol. The area is also only 20 minutes from MA skiing and one hour from Vermont ski areas. Only 35 minutes to Saratoga and 1.5 hrs to Lake George. Close to the Berkshire attractions too. It's a great town and a great region with plenty of lakes, streams, and natural attractions.
