House had 2 furnaces when we moved in, b/c the elderly prior owner insisted on using the old one. So, we took out the old to use the new right away ('06). Also removed a collapsible door and built a wall to divide LR from a BR; put down new carpeting in the living/dining area, hallways, & 2 bedrooms ('06). New shingled roof ('07), inc. replacing any soft wood underneath. Washer/dryer bought in '06. Dishwasher in '08. Around $20,000 had been made in improvements since bought in 2006 by us. Neighborhood Description We have wonderful neighbors on both sides of our home! Honestly, they are one of the hardest parts about leaving our starter house. People are often walking their dogs and taking walks with their children. It's a very family-friendly neighborhood for the young and young-at-heart . You can walk easily to Gifford's Ice Cream shop in the summer and to Lonergan Park (both on Main Street/Rt. 11). Since the home is technically in the village limits, you just leave all your yard work scraps (leaves, piles of grass, small branches, cuttings, etc.) on the curb for pick up; there's a free large item pick-up annually, as well.
