    The "River House" is on White Chimney Creek about a mile from the fishing village of Shellman Bluff in Coastal Georgia. It is 4 hours from Atlanta, 45 minutes south of Savannah and 45 minutes north of Brunswick and St. Simon's Island. A great retirement location for those who love the water, birds, fishing, crabbing, shrimping, beaching and boating, and the subdivision is quiet and well established. The house faces NW for great sunsets over the marsh and creek, with many mature live oaks, citrus, azaleas, and is beautifully landscaped and sodded. The covered dock and walk way are new, with water, electric, zoned lighting for relaxing, a fish cleaning station, gazebo and 30 foot floating dock. We catch whiting, blue crabs, speckled trout and shrimp from our dock in the tidal creek, which is deep water. It takes 20 minutes by boat to be at St. Catherine's Island, Blackbeard Island, Sapelo Island, or in the Atlantic. Beaches are deserted for miles, and the many miles of marsh are home to Bald Eagles, Wood Storks, Ibis and innumerable shore bird species. Commercial shrimpers work the waters but there is very light leisure boating traffic. Taxes are reasonable and the house has a deep well and water purification system as well as a new septic system, so monthly bills are limited to electric and cable. The house and detached garage and apartment were fully renovated in 2008 and meticulously maintained, so many years of care-free living lie ahead. A 2-story Florida room was added in 2008 and its many windows face the river, marsh and boat dock. A wooden fence adds to the privacy on either side but does not interfere with the great view. Renovations included 2 new zoned HVAC systems (heat pumps), all new energy efficient windows, new floors of close-laid travertine limestone and marble, new carpets in 3 bedrooms, hardwood in the upstairs second master suite, laminate wood in the lower master suite which has marble floored bath and counters, a six-windowed panoramic view of the marsh, and opens onto a private covered patio that is plumbed and wired for a hot tub looking over the marsh. The kitchen has designer stainless jenn-aire appliances (2008), quartz counter tops and tile backsplashes, custom cabinets, task lighting and low profile European fixtures. The house was re-wire, re-plumbed, sided with tabby and hardi-plank for low maintenance (2008). Also new sheet rock, light fixtures, paint and roof. Custom sound system was built into the Florida Room addition with inside and outside speakers. House comes with all appliances including washer/dryer and 56 inch flat screen TV. Two family rooms each have a wood-burning stove. Upstairs loft is perfect for office or hobby space (hardwood floor) with a sunset view. There is a fenced 10 x 10 pet access with doggy door, lawnmower and equipment shed, and covered wood shed. A lot directly across the street is also available, priced separately-it has no structure, but has septic system, water, electric and driveway, and could be used for a boat house or residential construction addition.
