HOME FOR SALE (BY OWNER) $329,000 (OR A REASONABLE OFFER) 2,000 sq. ft. 3 BR, 1.5 BA on 3 acres of land.
*Bakersville NC is a small town USA located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina in Mitchell County. Bakersville has been known for decades as the gateway to the beautiful Roan Mountain State Park.
*Asheville NC, both part of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, the Great Smoky Mountain's National Park and the well known Blue Ridge National Parkway.
*My farmhouse style home was built in1950 and includes an addition added in 1976, and is located just outside of Bakersville City limits. If you need to, or want to move to a new location, county, state or away from the big city life, my home is move in ready.
*The large laundry room addition is a plus for anyone who does laundry. (One of my favorite rooms) Lots of hanging space and room to move around. Cabinet space for whatever you needed to use it for. The back entrance to the laundry room could also be used as a mud room since new ceramic tile was added to this room.
*The farmhouse kitchen is really unique with hand built cabinets from real wood in 1950. Large storage space in these deep built cabinets. Great view outside while using the new kitchen sink. Ceramic tile has been added that improves the overall look as if the whole kitchen has been remodeled.
*If you love working from home, the renovated Attic would make a great office space. Quiet and beauty would surround you. The Attic is one of my favorite rooms as well.
*The living room is one of my spur of the moment ideas to use the 1942 wood from my late parent's home that was not fixable. I loved the beauty of the wood after it was planed and put on the walls, then sealed with polyurethane.
*I could go on and on about my favorite additions and renovations but not enough space and time. I will add, my favorite thing to do at night was to sit on the front porch and listen to the sound of the creek as it was running on down to where ever creeks go.
RENOVATIONS:
*New electric wiring was added throughout the home, a new roof, new septic and septic pump, new drain system, new hot water heater, new double doors in back. Half of the block wall in back of the home has been rebuilt, painted, and looks brand new. The outside chimney was wired and a thin coat of mortar mix was added to prolong the life of the chimney.
*New covered front porch, new small back deck porch, new shutters, widened driveway and new landscaping. New paint inside that includes walls and ceilings, new sheetrock, insulation and beadboad throughout the home. New door knobs on every door, new laminate flooring and new ceramic tile in laundry room, kitchen and bathrooms.
*Tilted windows in very good condition, were added a few years ago. The outside of the house was sealed with 100% asbestos sealer, and painted with Lowe's best paint available that works as a sealer as well.
*Heating and Cooling:
Oil furnace heat for original main floor, and electric wall heat in any additions we made during the renovation. These new electric wall heaters are an asset for quickly warming up a room. I was actually impresed by the new wall heaters. Electricity is cheape than oil. There are ceiling fans in most rooms and window air conditioners, if needed.
Bakersville can get pretty cool at night.
*You must have a Pre-approved conventional loan, your bank, or check out on line lender's and see which lender has the best interest rate. CASH buyers are very welcome to buy this home.

What the owner loves about this home
My husband grew up in Bakersville. He remembers it as a small town where the idea of caring for each other as neighbors was carried out on a regular basis. People helped one another whether it was to offer assistance to someone in need or simply to inquire about their neighbor”s welfare. People worked together for the common good. That is still seen in the resilience of the people of the area as they have struggled to overcome the destruction of Hurricane Helene. Neighbor have helped neighbors and entire communities have banded together for the good of the unfortunate.
A beautiful natural area where schools are good, crime is low, and people work diligently to constantly improve the area ro make it a better place for future generations. Mountain people exhibited a simple life style with values reflecting the best of America.
