Very charming 2 bdrm country home with its own backyard patio area. Fully furnished, with large modern kitchen (new refrigerator, gas stove, dishwasher, microwave, granite counter-tops) and living room (wood stove). Air conditioning and heat. Access to a laundry house with washer and dryer. Located in a 10 acre large park-like estate with flower gardens, orchards with over 100 types of fruit, and a large pond. Surrounded by the redwood forest. Very peaceful and idyllic, with lots of birds and animals in the neighborhood. On the same property are a larger residence (weekend home of the owner), one other guest unit and a caretaker unit. Renters should be aware that the property is about 20 minutes from Santa Cruz city and so having a car is essential for shopping, going to the doctor etc. We are in the mountains at about 1500 feet in a fairly wild area with lots of animals, birds and insects, so you should be ok with all of that. When it storms there are often power blackouts, the internet goes down and trees can come down, roads can get washed out and there may be accidents. Fires are also common in the summer and fall. The owner often hosts larger business events at the property (I am a VC), perhaps 8 times a year. When there are events, there will be a number of cars parked on the property, altho the events occur in the main house and are not noisy. Owner pays for water, propane, garbage. Free wood for the wood burning stove. Looking for a quiet tenant. No loud parties and no more than 3 guest cars at one time.
