Off Grid Log home built in the 1970s, Million Dollar view and site on 3.8 acres.2 Bedroom - 2 Bathroom - Kitchen - Dining - Living Area and Large 24 X 24 Deck. The home is located in Aspen Springs Colorado which is about 17 miles from Pagosa Springs, Co and about 50 miles from Durango Colorado. There is also a 12 X 14 foot shed on the property. Has septic system, a Well with lots of water and the Solar System is approximately 4 years old. Brand New Gas Oven and Range, Brand New Washer Machine. This home is nestled away in Aspen Springs and not easy to find. A large crawl space/under the house area for storage. Has a 12 X 14 Shed. Heating by propane and wood burning stove. The Z-Estimate is wrong due to many factors one being an estimate based on what the value before I have made all the updates including Well and Solar System. Most people in the area haul their water. I had an appraisal on the home a year ago. The appraisal was 239,000. I originally purchased the property as an off grid fixer upper. I added the Well hook up, The Solar System and Propane Heating. Very Strong Well. The well is 700 feet deep and has lots of water. It is about 200 feet from the house and has a 1700 gallon holding tank. The house runs completely on Solar Power. Has 9 Panels, Solar Shed, Inverter and 8 Deep Cell Batteries. The power is plenty to run the house and well. Propane is hooked up to the house and has a propane heater for the winter months. Other Sources of heating is the Wood stove in living area. Septic System. I had it inspected 5 months ago and everything is fine. It was also pumped out. Things to consider: I have been in Wichita Kansas for the past 8 months and have been renting the property for the past 4 months for 1000 a month. It is a month to month lease so i would have to give my renter a couple of months notice. My Insurance on the property was dropped even though fire mitigation has been done on the property. Due to fires in Colorado they dropped all of their coverage in Colorado. I looked into other companies and have found some that will insure me but I need to do some things first. That is why I plan on going out in November sometime to take care of the issues. My renter is also doing some work on the place on a project by project basis. Things that need to be done: Tile put under the Wood Stove Railing put on top floor Railing put around both Decks Broken Window needs to be repaired D-Log Siding put on the new mud room. Possibly new floors especially in the living area as well as on the stairs. Gravel put down in the driveway. Other suggestions New bathtub and possible remodel in the upstairs bathroom. New Tub and tile downstairs I would add a propane refrigerator. Currently the Solar supports the electric refrigerator but I just think it would be better to run it off propane so you would have all the power you need on overcast days. A generator is also included so when the power does go out you can charge the batteries which will last about 8 hours. The property has tremendous potential and it sits on the back a huge ranch owned by the Espinosas. It is neatly tucked away on the end of a culdesac. I hardly ever see my neighbors. They have never given me any trouble and we are all on good terms. In the winter there could be times that you would be snowed in for a day or so especially if you don’t have a 4 wheel drive. There are snow plows that run but they can take a day or so to get to it. Some of the attached pictures are old and many things have been done since.
