This home was designed by Joel Roberts Ninde (1874-1916) and Grace E Crosby (1873-1962), Indiana's first two female architects. The orginial drawings have remained with the home since the first owner (J A Calhoun) commissioned these women to design it. This is likely one of the last homes that Joel designed as she died suddenly of a stroke in 1916, the year the house was built.
