    What's special

Historic 1850 New England Farmhouse overlooking island studded Johnson's Bay in coastal Lubec Maine. Owner financing the qualified buyers. The home is sited on .3 acres and abuts the future Lubec Commercial pier and safe harbor for the fishermen. The home has been updated to today's standards and restored moldings, light fixtures and woodwork to reflect the period it was build . When you walk into the renovated eat-in kitchen, your eyes are immediately drawn to the bank of 8 window opposite the entrance. Views of the North Lubec shoreline, islands, fishing vessels and awesome sunsets can be seen from the comfort of your home. Watch the eagles soar and the fishermen and pleasure boats as they go about their day on the water. As you move beyond the kitchen, there is a formal dining room and a living room along the front of the house. The formal entrance is just off the living room where the front stairs to the 2nd floor are located. There is also a full bath with laundry on the first floor. The second floor has a large room on the second floor that could be the master bedroom or a combination bedroom/craft room. Three other bedrooms and a full bath with clawfoot tub completes the 2nd floor. Lubec is a coastal community and summertime finds visitors from across the US and other countries. It is the most easterly town in the US and home to the famous West Quoddy Head Lighthouse which marks the most easterly point in the United States and greets the sun first each morning as it spreads its rays across our nation. This coastal community is also the gateway to Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada where Teddy Roosevelt had his summer home. There is an International Park maintained by the US and Canada that incompasses the summer home and guest cottages of the Roosevelt estate. It is just a quick stop at Customs and you can explore the islands many hidden treasures and the beautiful gardens of the estate. Back on the US side of the bridge, Lubec has over 90 miles of shorefront and the area offers over 12,000 acres of preserved public lands and parks. Take a hike on one of the many trails at West Quoddy Head State Park, Hamilton Cove or the Pike Lands; grab your kayak or canoe and launch from any number of public sites to experience the ebb and flow of our great tides and explore the island studded bays. Lubec is also home to Summer Keys - a music program that attracts adult students from all over. They come here every year for a week or two to study with artists that have mastered their chosen instrument and on Wednesdays the staff put on a grand concert - free to the public. There is so much to share - from the pristine beauty of the area, the diverse programs offered in the summer, the sleepy winters that bring about winter activities - both indoor and out. Downeast Maine - a great place to be year-round or seasonal
