This lovingly restored historic commercial building is now two completely separate, fully-furnished apartments with a common entry mudroom. The apartment that is for rent is 610 sf, 1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom. Short term rentals available through the summer of 2025, and medium- and long-term rental available fall 2025. We own and restored this commercial property from nearly being demolished, into a private mountain loft-style retreat, and use half of the property as our part-time residence. Throughout the home is radiant-floor heating, wall-to-wall durable LVP flooring, and loft-style "retro-modern" finishes. There is not a single piece of drywall: all exterior and interior walls are brick and masonry with thick insulation. Believe it or not, the bedroom used to be cold-storage for the historic dairy store across the street, and still has 1-foot-thick insulated walls to prove it! Entry to what we lovingly call this"ice cream room" is through the restored 1930's-era freezer door, which we rescued from a junk pile in the back yard and rebuilt into a soft-close barn door. And, check out the matching "ice cream door," a small pass-through from the bathroom vanity area into what is now the bedroom. The little door was rescued from the same junk pile and rebuilt into a matching barn door. Instead of ice cream, this pass through is now home to an electric fireplace that can be seen from both the bedroom and the bath vanity area when the door is open.
In this bedroom, which is arguably the quietest and coziest room in the entire town (due to the 1-foot insulated walls!), there is a full-sized kitchen on one wall. Included here are a dual burner induction cooktop, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, microwave, coffee grinder, French press, drip coffee maker, full-sized sink, complete set of cookware and dishes, and everything else you need to enjoy a lovely home cooked meal and fresh coffee in the shared gigantic backyard around the fire pit. Work or play with the whole-house wi-fi (fiber optic high speed internet), the 50" TV, sound system, and attached docking station (works with USB-C laptops, tablets, phones, etc.). The front entry is a private locking door from the common "mudroom," and the back-yard entry is through a spacious room we call the "sunroom." Rack your bikes and skis, or enjoy the sun in this room that grants access to the shared backyard. In the huge backyard, enjoy the fire pit, bar-b-q, and space to spread out with the dog.
Out front, the included EV charger can top off your EV or PHEV. Since this property is three lots wide, there is plenty of parking in the front (attached garage is used for the owner's side of the house).
