Greetings, this old house would like to share some of history since my beginning in the early 1900's. I was the first "mansion" built in Meeteetse, meaning I was the first two story frame home in town. Look at my two big windows, one in the dining room, other in the library. As you can see they are original poured windows. My pine wood floors are also still intact and not covered by carpet. There is an abundance of original wood trim throughout my rooms. I am fondly known as "Mrs. Elliott's. Mrs. Elliott was our teacher for many years, many Meeteetse residents remember attending class in my rooms. The two front doors mark the separate entrance to the school rooms and the home. I still retain a wall of original library shelves. My present owners have spent a lot of time making me shiny again. During the winter of 1999 the sewer from the house to the street was replaced. In the fall of 2000 I got a new roof. The old one was quite a deal, 5 layers of shingles, newspapers and tin from old gas cans. During the winter of 2005 a quarter inch of Styrofoam insulations was applied to my outside walls and then the steel siding. To make things even cozier for my occupants a new wood stove with triple wall chimney pipe arrived for Christmas in 2006. In 2014 a complete upstairs bath remodel was accomplished along with a complete kitchen remodel. All new appliances, cabinets, some hand made....a gas fireplace in the kitchen office, a door to the back deck(new) and new storm doors and entry door. I set on three city lots with established trees and newly planted fruit trees in the back yard. There are plenty of beautiful flowers and gardens to enjoy in the warmer months. My garage is small but totally functional. I guess I better quit rambling, I a sure my owners would like to relay some information of their own.
