God is Good - Charming Craftsman in Nashville’s Historic Riverside Village The price is based off of the appraised value and not the Zillow estimate. You'll know if this home is yours, because it will be a blessing not a burden. This listing is temporary. Welcome to 1210 Shelton Ave—a renovated 1920s Craftsman nestled in one of East Nashville’s protected historic districts. Unlike surrounding areas rapidly filling with tall skinnies and new construction, this neighborhood preserves its original charm and character. We turned the home into a fully functioning 3-story house, covered entire with polished, hardwood floors. The entire upstairs is a master suite, and a large downstairs multi-purpose basement. It's an open format with a fireplace, mud-room and large island with granite counters and a built-in coffee bar. We also restored the 2-car garage and added a room in the back for a gym, lounge, studio, or game room. There is a large front patio and additional back deck, as well as a fenced-in back yard with room to play or for customization (garden, trampoline, greenhouse, outdoor dreamscape). This thoughtfully remodeled home blends the best of both worlds: historic character on the outside, with a modern, functional interior. It feels like a sanctuary, as it lets the light in. Situated just steps from the scenic and iconic Riverside Drive, the setting is serene, surrounded by mature trees and wide, peaceful streets. It's a walkable neighborhood, and you're minutes from some of the Nashville's most beloved local spots—Mitchell’s Deli, Village Pub, and Dose Coffee are right around the corner at the McGavock intersection. Plus, the area continues to grow with vibrant new restaurants and shopping, as well as exciting future developments on the horizon. Only 10 minutes from downtown, this home offers both urban convenience and a quiet, nature-filled retreat. In a city that's expanding and drawing a lot of new life, owning property is a prized possession. It's hard to get your hands on one of the few historic lots in Nashville. Similar to downtown Franklin, it will preserve its value and only increase. It's a dream home and once-in-a-lifetime investment that invites you to live to the fullest.
What the owner loves about this home
I love how it feels like a sanctuary. It's well lit, spacious and cozy. It has beautiful views of the sunrise over the horizon with birds chirping their morning song. It's a walkable neighborhood with bike paths. Kroger is a block away, Dose Coffee, Village Pub and Mitchell's Deli are also a block away. As million dollar homes are popping up all around as new construction with not lot, this home is in a historic district. Tall skinnies can't come in. Air BnBs can't come it. Similar to historic Franklin, it's reserved and will only increase in value as Nashville continues to develop. East Nashville already has many developments underway. Nashville is also building an Oracle headquarters and new Titan's stadium in the works which will only make it harder to get your spot. This home is special, because it's in the heart of Nashville, but remains just far enough away from city life. It's an <10 minute drive to access the city's eventful downtown, while being just far enough away to have peace, quiet and quaintness. East Nashville is known for a more cultured affluence. Brentwood and Williamson county are very manicured, prim and proper, while East Nashville is for the connoisseur. It's artistic and eclectic, as more of an urban suburb. Not the city, but not a cookie cutter, copy-paste neighborhood. We put our heart and soul into renovating it to be a very customized abode. It has unique details like a master suite that is the entire upstairs, a built-in coffee bar nook, a large island, mudroom, and a beautified basement that is the entire bottom floor, which could serve as a den, family room, or in my case, a dressing room. The home is only hardwood floors. I love the front porch with the swing, the massive back deck and back yard with room for whatever you desire. We rebuilt the 2-car garage and added a room in the back for a gym, lounge, studio, or game room. It's classic meets contemporary.
