There's a formal dining area, a deck in back (summer!), a fireplace (winter!), off-street parking for one car, big front porch and more. Classic hardwood floors in the living and dining rooms.
We made a bunch of major updates this year: completely remodeled the kitchen including new quartz countertops, range/hood, and cabinets. We moved walls to make the flow of the space work better. Also just put in brand new carpet in the bedrooms and repainted most of the rooms.
There is a separate daylight basement unit that has its own entrance along the side of the house. There's a common area in the unfinished section of the basement with washer/dryer and plenty of room for storage, art projects, etc.
Great location -- near Tutta Bella in Wallingford. On bus lines for University of Washington, Ballard and downtown, plus easy walking distance from numerous local shops, restaurants, bars and QFC. Fremont, Green Lake, U District and the Burke Gilman Trail are all close. Walk score of 90 out of 100 (a "walker's paradise" according to Walkscore).

Some details to help you decide if this is the right place for you:
* It's a classic old craftsman house which does mean you can hear a bit of noise between the floors. The tenants downstairs are great and respectful, but something to keep in mind. Similarly, we're looking for a tenant who is respectful about sharing a building.
* There's a nice yard where we've removed all the old weedy grass and installed a rain garden, garden beds and the previous tenant made a raised vegetable bed. If you like to tinker around in a garden, there's room to tinker.
* The parking spot in front of the house is relatively small. Sedans and station wagons fit, but a bigger vehicle may not. Parking on the street is relatively easy to find though!
* Great location if you're main means of travel is bus, bike or walking. Room to store bikes in the basement.
* Utilities are NOT included in the rental price and are split with the upstairs unit.
* We currently have no pets for this unit and that would be our preference. We've gone back and forth on this in the past.
