The sunrises and sunsets from this 1950's Cape at the top of Fox Hill in Wesley would be the first thing to mention! If you are a person who enjoys a view, look no further! (or look a LONG way out!) Distant mountain views are what it is all about here and they are endless, unless of course the fog rolls in, old timers always claimed Wesley's Fog nourished blueberry fields made the wild blueberries here the sweetest around!
This home has had a lot of recent work, new oil FHA furnace and a propane monitor for back up, new roof, all new full bath, living room has been redone alone with the addition of a 12 x 28 Hillview garage. Inside the home does still need some work, but that chance is for you to finish it and make it your own. There are options anyone could work with to make some changes!
First floor, you walk into a large "Mud room", sunroom... very usable space. The current owners plan was to remove a section of wall and expand the kitchen into this space. First floor laundry area, the kitchen has the old original metal cabinets and antique sink, the living room has that fantastic mountain view, you will be the first to know the incoming weather! The hallway off the back of the living room has the stairway up or to the full basement, to the right is the master bedroom, left is the full bath and 2 smaller bedrooms. Upstairs is a large bedroom, a large closet that "could" make a bathroom, there is plenty of room, and a large unfinished room used as attic storage, this could be finished off as well. If anyone were to dustpan the roof, the views from the 2nd floor would be incredible, what a fantastic master suite it would make!
Property sits about a half hour drive from either Machias or Calais and about an hour and 15 min to Bangor. The area is close to many lakes, streams and rivers, snowmobile/ATV trails as well as being surrounded by blueberry fields. If you enjoy being outside. This is the location! Wesley has a population of around 100 people. (98 by the 2010 census) It consists of 50.64 square miles and was incorporated in 1833, named for John Wesley who was the founder of the English Methodist movement. The historical society is in what was the Old Wesley Corner School at the crest of Fox Hill, and anyone can view the collections on display there and read about the history of the area.
