Live like a celebrity at "Palm Springs Midmod", our lovely 3 bedroom, 2 bath pool home with private pool house/cabana. Located in a very serene section of the prestigious Movie Colony East neighborhood of central Palm Springs, the home is a short walk or bike ride to the Uptown Design District of Palm Canyon Drive. Built in 1957 at the height of the "Mid Century Modern" movement, the house has been lovingly restored to its original glory with a full complement of modern conveniences, including a brand new, fully stocked kitchen with slick grey cabinetry, all stainless steel appliances, quartz counter-tops, and designer glass tile back splash. The space is incredibly light and bright with a wall of windows out to our entertainers back-yard for true indoor/outdoor living. The outdoor space features a large patio that runs the length of the house and provides ample space for dining and sunbathing while admiring the breathtaking views of the majestic San Jacinto mountains. Looking for a 6 month lease term, fully furnished. Small dog will be considered. Owner pays for landscaping, pool service and garbage. All other utilities (gas, electric, water, Internet/TV) are the tenant's responsibilities. Looking to lease fully furnished for 6 months. It is important to note that Palm Springs is a desert climate and the summers are brutally warm, with triple digit heat from June through September. People moving to the area from more temperate climates need to budget for high electricity bills for AC that will be running fairly nonstop. We have never rented our home on a full time basis and have no experience with the cost of running the AC full time in the summer. As an Airbnb, we would only rent out every weekend in the month of July and would rack up $500+ electric bills. The property is an original mid century modern home, built in the 50's. Both the architecture (open wood beam ceilings without insulation) and the build era do not offer the efficiencies of a more contemporary home. Retrofitting the home to be more efficient would destroy its classic architectural appeal so it remains as inefficient as it was back in the 50's. Because of the inefficiencies in the design of the house, the AC is only capable of maintaining a 30 degree temperature differential between the outside and the inside. On extremely hot days, it may not be possible to cool the house to the degree that's possible with more modern, efficient homes. If you need it be 70 degrees or below in the house at all times, this is probably not the house for you during the summer.
