This furnished unit is located one block up from Astoria's historic downtown district. Some of the photos show how the space has been decorated in the past. This can help you get an idea about the space.
The apartment is in a structure where three buildings have been connected to form one. The buildings date from around 1870. Some of the single pane window sash are thought to be the oldest in town. The structures were probably moved up the hill on skidders in the early 1900's from what was Astoria's Chinatown. Sadly, these three buildings are the only remaining structures from that district.
This large ground level apartment gets plenty of natural light and is located on a quiet street. It has no doors separating the rooms. All the spaces, excluding the bathroom, are defined with partial walls or partitions. The rooms include a living room, dining room, bedroom, kitchen, laundry/storage room, and bathroom. The floors are a solid surface. Most of them are painted t&g (tongue and groove) wood except for the bathroom and bedroom where it is vinyl.
For heat, the living room has a newer freestanding Rinnai gas furnace. It has multiple setting options and keeps the space comfortable. For cold and damp winter days, a dehumidifier is also supplied. For additional heat in the bathroom, there is a wall heater.
The kitchen is "commercial style" with plenty of shelving. There is no automatic dishwasher but it does have a large commercial style double basin sink with drain boards. The stove was updated last year with a brand new glass top unit. From the kitchen you can also enjoy some views of downtown and the river.
The Laundry space has a washer and dryer.
The bathroom has a modest tub/shower unit. Both the toilet and exhaust fan are new.
The unit has updated plumbing and electrical. There are plenty of grounded outlets for all your electrical devices.
The distance to the river walk is about 6 blocks and the Sunday market is located 2.5 blocks away.
The building has no off street parking. However, there is plenty of street parking.
