Neighborhood is very safe. In summer, you often see people walking up and down the street in the evening. There are also people who walk around the triangle formed by Varnum Ave. and the two side streets. In winter, street is one of the better-plowed streets in Lowell. People in the neighborhood are friendly but mostly keep to themselves. Fire department is about 1/2 mile away and hospital is about 1-1/2 miles away, but hear sirens infrequently. School and LRTA buses have stops on our corner. Street has marked bike lanes.
