The original portion of this home was build in 1915 by Joseph Latlief of Fulton, MD - Dustin Road on land given to his daughter and son-in-law by son-in-law's father, Silas Wright Dustin of Laurel, MD. The Dustin family has roots in the U.S. dating back to the 1600's in Haverhill, MA - see story of Hannah Dustin. There is a family cemetary on the adjacent development of Jamestown (Old Columbia Road.) The home is occupied by Mr. Dustin's great, great granddaughter & her family and the original portion of the home is constructed from trees cut from the property and milled at the saw mill that was located at the end of Old Columbia Road at the Patuxent River. A large addition was made to the home in 1995 by Mr. Dustin's great nephew. The street view photos that you see on this site are not views of the front of the house. They are views of the side of the house that faces the road. Neighborhood Description Our home is not situated in a neighborhood, but is located on a county identified "scenic road" in Howard County Maryland. The road gets moderate traffic from the surrounding newly build neighborhoods and has a posted speed limit of 25. We have very quiet, kind neighbors. The parents in this area are HIGHLY involved in the area schools and overall community. The location of our home is moderatly secluded, but in close proximity to shopping, recreation and transportaion. We are located approximately 30 miles from both Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
