We are looking for one or two people to come live on our fantastic property. This is one house of four on property. It is attached to another house by a laundry room. About the house: *rooms are small, but full of charm *bedroom is upstairs *fantastic views *full kitchen *large bathtub *deck *lots of direct sunlight *access to shared laundry *ample room for gardening About the property: *many years ago it was a bed and breakfast: it is gorgeous. *total of four homes. *5 acres *Branciforte creek runs through property *sunny meadows and shady meadows *home to deer, wild turkeys and lots more *6 miles from downtown Santa Cruz OR downtown Soquel. 12 minutes to either. About us: *Parents, kids, teachers and much more. We'd like to live with kid-friendly people. *We live on the same property and enjoy each other's company, but sometimes go days or more without seeing each other. Other details: *Water included *Propane split with one other home (these two attached units share a propane tank) *Electricity is paid through owner, monthly per person average of electric costs are paid in addition to rent. Current per person average is $64 per person per month. *Deposit is $3000. *House is available February 1st *Pets are considered with additional pet deposit and pet lease agreement *Please note that this house is in the mountains, on a rural property: -The water comes from a well. The water is safe for drinking, but some people choose to buy separate, filtered water. -The house uses a septic system, which means that anything going down drains (sink, toilet or shower) stays on the property, underground. Proper care of septic systems includes being selective and careful about what goes down drains. -Power outages are frequent/normal during storms. Due to being in a remote location, the property isn't always a top priority for PG&E to restore power, which means that power can be out for days at a time. Power outages can mean not having access to running water, as the well system is electrical. It is therefore recommended that tenants store extra water for dinking and hygiene during power outages. -Power outages will typically also affect internet service, since most homes have a modem or router which is connected to an electrical outlet, and internet service is spotty in the area. This is rural living, near a quaint beach town. While there are some modern conveniences, it is a different lifestyle than living in a city. We love this place and pinch ourselves all the time over how lucky we are to live in such beauty and with such amazing land-mates. We're looking for someone/s as special and charming as this place is... Lease is one year, then continues month-to-month. Base rent is $2,000/month, which includes water. Propane bill is shared with another house on the property, tenants divide propane bill. Electric charges are added to monthly rent payment, per person, and trued up annually. Current average is $64/pp per month, subject to change, in alignment with electricity charges.
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Zillow. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.
