Own a part of Adirondack history. This Garnet Hill ''Miner's Cottage'' was built in the 1880s to house workers near the site of the original Hooper garnet mine. When the mine closed down, this cottage eventually became a vacation camp and for the last 50 years as part of the Garnet Hill Property Owners Association. Close by is the Garnet Hill Outdoor Center with miles of nordic and biking trails and Garnet Hill Lodge with its Adirondack menu. You have rights to the association's beach and picnic and boat area on motorless three mile long 13th Lake. Miles and miles of wilderness hiking and skiing start just out the front door.
