Old Wethersfield represents an authentic New England heritage, now nearly 370 years in the making. It's the largest Historic District in Connecticut with 50 houses built before the Revolutionary War; 100 built by the time of the Civil War; and another 150 built shortly thereafter. It peserves our nation’s heritage in an authentic, living, New England village, whose artifact-rich museums, historic homes, shops and places of interest are nestled among tree-lined streets. This house overlooks the Broad Street Green - surrounded by elegant and stately old homes - it is here that the early settlers grazed livestock. Today it's host to dozens of magnificent specimen trees - elms, oaks, sycamores, an 1836 copper beech - some as high as 15 stories tall. The green is also a venue to the Cornfest, the Wethersfield’s annual fall festival presented by the Chamber of Commerce.
