A unique offering on Treasure Island, Lake Winnipesaukee, only a five minute boat ride to nearby marinas. Between 1913 and 1950, Treasure Island was called Camp "Mishe Mokwa" and operated as a boys camp. In 1950, the island was sold to the Girl Scouts of America and continued as "Camp Treasure Island." Three of the cabins on the center are the original girl scout cabins and you can still see some of the initials, names and drawings the girls wrote on the walls. One of the smaller cabins was used perhaps as a counselor cabin and another was as a workshop. The cottage served as the bathhouse. Some of the homes around the island perimeter served as a dining hall, an infirmary and a rec hall. The center parcel has 101’ of pristine waterfront with a boathouse and completely sandy bottom. There are docks attached to each side of the boathouse allowing docking for three boats and plenty of room for chairs to enjoy all day sun. The exposure is southwest and the panoramic views are outstanding. It’s time to go back to camp!!
