The Pool is Open!! Are you interested in something extraordinary? Would you like to live in a modern home built to last centuries? In 1949 a Louisville business man wanted to build such a home. He chose a showplace lot at the entrance of the then new Cherokee section of Indian Hills. The lot was bigger than most at just under ¾ of an acre and backed to the woods of the Indian Hills Riding Academy. He created a one floor masterpiece with steel beams, concrete walls, floors, and even reinforced concrete ceilings. He clad the home with the same stone used to build Vanderbilt's mansion, Biltmore in Asheville, NC, the largest home in North America. The roof had to be slate of course and the same roof and its copper gutters and downspouts still protect his home.
