Much of this home is tongue and groove wood, which provides a very warm, log cabin, rustic feel. The large gas fireplace (in the main family room), keeps things, warm and cozy through the winter. The other part of the house has a real, wood-burning fireplace, which is a nice feature if you have the energy to gather the wood for it. The loft in the main family room provides a good deal of extra space for guests. The kitchen has an Amish custom built bench and table which we added when we remodeled the kitchen in 2004. It’s very convenient for informal meals - eating in the kitchen. Being a ranch style home and having the washer and dryer in the utility/2nd full bathroom has made life much easier. It’s not something people typically think about when they’re younger, but as you get older, not having to go up and down steps to do laundry is a gift! The addition we put on in 2006 provided a really nice foyer into our home, leading into a spacious dining area. Overall, the home is very spacious, with very sought after, open layout.
