5000sf lot is shared by 102 and 106 building residents. Beautiful grounds, fenced back yard, friendly faces.
You might like to know: Our house (102) is called the Corner House. We've lived here for 38 years, and used to operate a small B&B on the second floor. Now we're not that lively, and we share our main and second floor with a good friend who helps out with management and the heavier work, including the outdoors. We also have tenants above and below us.
The yard and gardens are still recovering from winter and construction, but things will be springing up soon, fitted out with chairs and tables and lovely blooms.
The 106 building, called the Kitty Corner, has two units. It just got final approval for occupancy, and Unit B, on the east side, is already rented to a couple with two kittens and an elderly cat!
We're now seeking a tenant for Unit A, on the west side. During the building, many people expressed a preference for this unit, although it's smaller - Unit B has two bedrooms. It has a certain compact charm, and overlooks the street through a gorgeous black locust tree.
This area is well served by public transit in easy walking distance. Also close by are groceries, restaurants, bars, clubs, schools (Seattle University and Seattle College), churches and other services.
You should also know: The neighborhood is surprisingly quiet. Usually the loudest noises are the overhead airplanes. Yet the sidewalks are well used by dog-walkers, runners and strollers. There are lots of neighbors, and we feel secure here. No off-street parking is provided, although a Zone 4 parking-plus-guest permit is free. We do have bicycle racks, and green rent-a-cycles are sprinkled about nearby. We don't permit smoking, weaponry, or even bicycles indoors. We are *serious* about recycling, and we want to live gently on the earth and kindly among its people and creatures.
We don't need any edicts to tell us to welcome the whole bouquet of the human race here. Our firm belief is that our business ends where yours begins.
First, this unit is at 106 18th East (true, an ADU to our home at 102). Second, the first lease offered is for 14 months, to May 31, 2024. Capitol Hill, brand new construction, well designed and finished. Hard flooring throughout, lots of light, room-darkening shades, utilities included. Cats allowed. Shares our compound with gardens and securely fenced back yard. If this fits you, come see asap! Tenants selected on the basis of compatibility with our value for gracious old-fashioned coexistence, sufficient resources, references (including that cat, if applicable!).
