Be at peace on your own 5 acres in southern Colorado! Perfect location for earthship or adobe house, wellness retreat center, hunting lease/cabin, winter ski housing, or summer retreat. There are mountains in the 4 cardinal directions, all of which have National Forest and BLM land in conjunction. 5 Peaks within one hour are over 14,000 ft. The Great Sand Dunes National Park is also within an hour distance. I have spent months at a time off and on here for a few years and it is the most still, peaceful place I have ever slept. It is peaceful but full of animals; elk, deer, antelope, a great variety of birds, foxes, and squirrels. My personal favorite are the large group of wild horses(!!!!) that frequent the land, due to grass growing in the stream which flows after monsoon rain and snow melt. The reservoir is less then .25 miles away and is a retreat for birds throughout the summer. I began housing on the property but moved 15 hours away. The creek provides the perfect soil (and gravel) for making adobe bricks and the ones in the photo came from the property. There are 2 great high points on each side of the creek with breath taking, awe filling views. The Rio Grande is less then 3 miles and there are several launch/take out spots. I went paddling in my canoe regularly during summer stays. The possibilities are numerous. There are some in the valley that use the land for dispensary use, others live full time, and a few who come and go. However you can spend weeks at a time with no contact of people and very few signs of civilization. It is in a large tract of open country.
