We have lived at this property for the past six years and are looking for a subletter to take over the lease until July 2023, with an option to extend the lease at that point. Move-in date is flexible, but late November 2022 at the earliest. Highlights include: spacious fenced-in backyard with two garden beds. The garden has space for a compost pile. We built a brick fire pit that is perfect for gatherings. There is a cement patio for grilling. The yard is also just a nice place to sit and read and listen to the wind blowing through the trees :) The house has beautiful hardwood floors throughout, central air, and an all-house ceiling fan. The kitchen has a fridge, dishwasher, gas range/oven, and space for a breakfast table. Washer and dryer in the basement. Within walking distance to Crystal Lake Park and the Busey Woods trailhead on Coler Avenue. The park is wonderful for walks, runs, and birdwatching. The landlord is excellent. She takes very good care of the house, and has always been quick to respond when things need fixing (which is not very often). It's a 12-15 minute bike ride to the University of Illinois, or a five minute walk to the Purple 22 MTD bus line which stops at several points on campus. The Grey 70 MTD bus traveling between Parkland College and Walmart picks up on the corner of the block. And, we're a block and a half from the Carle Hospital on University Avenue, so no need to bus there! Cats are allowed with a $35/month pet fee (our cat loved living here :)) There is also a $35 credit check fee as part of the rental application. Renter pays for electric/gas, water, internet, trash, and recycling. There is a $35/mo pet fee. If you choose to extend the lease (which goes through July 2023), there will be a rent increase. No smoking. Washer and Dryer are in the basement.
