The good news is that the virus is under tight control here due to aggressive public health measures and the successful work of our all-volunteer contact tracing team. The bad news is that we have had to postpone a number of showings. In mid-January, a large percentage of Vieques residents, including us, got first dose of Moderna vaccine in Phase 1 of a mass vaccination of residents here. The second dose will be given in Phase 2 in the beginning of February. This will have a profound effect on tourism businesses here, and soon most will be back in operation. If the covid situation on main island Puerto Rico deteriorates so that new shutdowns & travel restrictions are adopted there, Vieques will be affected by them too despite our unique situation.
