Great experience during the building process with being able to see the house whenever and to see it all come together. Kevin our superintendent was great and quickly fixed any issues we had.

We bought a spec home but feel like we are apart of the JTB family. Warranty has been great. The whole process was easy. Above and beyond what we thought. We have a beautiful new home that we have been dreaming about for years

Building details missed or overlooked   Not sure if buying a already built home differs from start to finish process 

My husband and I have had nightmare after nightmare with our experience. We have not had good experiences with the process from the beginning to completion. We started with a rushed studio appointment for design and were told we were behind. Our second appointment we finished early. During the process we were not given much time to decide and were told on repeat do you want this or that, this or that between two options in most occurrences. 
Throughout the build stage we had major issues occur. Starting with a loft being built where one was not to have been, incorrect stain color on all wood accents (most of which were upgrades, master bedroom wood beam, kitchen ceiling box), mixed shade wiring (that was approved and added in purchase cost).  
For multiple walk throughs our concerns were dismissed or brushed away with one reason or another (ie or tubs are very scratched, the upper-level bath has cracks on the outside and we were told that was due to manufacturing molds). However, with our visits to the house we saw items in the tubs and only when painting was going to occur did plastic get placed.
The workmanship overall has been horrible. I would never recommend JTB.

We have only had a couple of concerns and Interra took care of them right away.   We have had nothing but a great experience.  

It has been a horrible experience.  You do not support the buyer in Kalamazoo. Expect buyer to drive to GR to select everything for home in 2 hours. Project manager is a complete jerk when it comes to working with the customer and in particular woman. He is condescending, was extremely rude and hateful in written communication. I was told he owed me an apology which never happened. Closing delayed 3 weeks for shoddy work. Now I have to spend my days off dealing with warranty people that want me to work around their schedule just as John the project manager did. People that can afford these homes work. You need staff here and available. Today I was told, we don’t come to Kalamazoo on Tuesdays. I replied, that is not my problem, that is my day off. I was also told by warranty today it’s really hard for them to get down here because they are so busy in GR. Having to have back splash replaced 3X, repeated asking for crooked refrigerator to be fixed, horrid paint job on many walks, drywall tape showing thru, cupboards pulling away from walls, subpar masonry work on fireplace verified by 3 companies, sticking doors, flickering lights, electrical outlets paid for that were not installed, damaged cupboard doors installed, damaged trim on front door installed, loose outdoor lights, chipped window frame, loose bannisters that I was told 2X would be fixed before closing (same for crooked refrigerator), duct work tape peeling off in basement, water spitting out of shower and bathroom faucet, poor water pressure in main shower (not others), no paint on one side of window in dining room, blacktop too high at garage, door does not seal properly. All of this needs fixing AFTER I closed. And now I have to spend my free time being available for subs to fix what should have been done correctly in the first place. Put that with being disrespected by the project manager, no-I would never recommend anyone buy from Interra Homes. I could even tolerate all of the repairs, I can not forgive or forget the mean and spiteful behavior of John. I paid extra for a privacy fence on balcony. I asked John 2X to save the parts removed in the garage as they are all plastic and break and I wanted those parts for replacement. John’s crew installed my privacy fence on the wrong unit. After it was removed from wrong unit and reinstalled in mine, I am sure he used those parts to fix the wrong install unit. That is stealing from me. I am happy to speak with anyone at Interra Himes about the experience and items they could utilize for process improvement. 

JTB should be very proud of the people who represent the company.  From the moment we met Chris we knew we were in good hands.  He is such a great communicator and very responsive.  Working with Lindsey in the design studio was one of my favorite parts of this process.  She did an excellent job guiding us through our choices and was very patient and accommodating  when we had questions or wanted to make changes.  Brian was the best construction manager.  He was always available to answer our numerous questions and did an outstanding job sending weekly photos of progress made.  

We wish we would have had the option to pay JTB for basic landscaping.  It was very stressful and expensive using our own company after we moved in.  Dump truck loads of topsoil had to be hauled in. Lots of grading needed to be done. 
The day after our yard was hydroseeded, we had a huge rain and a lot of it was washed away.   We would have preferred to have a yard done before we moved in so that we could have avoided working with landscapers the same time we were dealing with the chaos of moving.  We spent over $26,000 just on establishing our yard.  

The other big frustration was lack of internet.  I spent countless hours on the phone and in the stores of Xfinity.  They send four different techs to us and each tech had the same story - the Xfinity line is across the road and they didn’t have the power to run the line to our neighborhood.  We were three weeks with no internet which means there’s weeks with no tv, no laptop, no printer, and only slow cell service.  After exhausting all options. we bought Starlink equipment for over $350 and $120 a month.  Since Xfinity is the only other choice in our neighborhood it seems that JTB could have had the line brought across the road.  We are still hoping this issue can be resolved so we can discontinue Starlink and get on Xfinity.

We have had a lot of issues since we moved in.  Most of the issues have to do with things that should have been caught during the building process or at the inspections.
