Swan Woods by Stone Martin Builders

Our experience from start to finish was excellent. Each department we worked with was very responsive and thorough. All of our questions were answered, although we had minimal questions because they did their jobs so well. Very pleased with Stone Martin Builders!

There was significant misinformation from the listing agent. No insulation was used inside the house, and you can clearly hear toilets flushing and showers running from the second floor. Several areas of paint are poorly done, especially in the garage and bedrooms, where it’s obvious the walls and doors were painted with rollers instead of being properly finished with brushes. During the selection process, we were told there would be flowers planted, but none were. The cabinets have visible scratches, and the HVAC system is located in the attic rather than inside the bonus room, which seems like poor design. The doors are so narrow that my antique couches couldn’t fit through. Additionally, the light switches for the front entrance are inconveniently located near the garage. Incorrect information was also provided regarding the safe street , which was misleading. To make matters worse, when we raise concerns, we are met with rude customer service, belittling remarks adding to the frustration. [redacted]

Overall they were responsive most of the time, but I wished they responded more than every couple of weeks especially in issue that were brought up by me. We closed about 20 days past the expected closing date. I did not get any response in getting the engineering office or the project manager or at the corporate office at SM in obtaining a wind load certificate to lower my insurance by about $500. So yes I am disappointed. If they build a quality product with the latest engineering specs for high winds then way why they respond. As far as the warranty on the home they are top notch on getting things fixed from the AC to the floor to cabinets.
